The Department of French Studies is always looking for great ways to share our culture with the rest of the University and with our community. There are many ways for you to get involved or to learn more about our programs and life in the department.

• Attend one of "Café Rencontres", our lecture series presentations. We host a café rencontre almost every month.


• Read about our Department through the eyes of a grad student. Quintessence is the graduate student newsletter that features our student's original work, interviews with faculty and other interesting news and events.


• Join our students during a Cercle français, our student run French club, social event to practice your french or to meet new people.

Congratulations to Delbert W. Russell, Distinguished Professor Emeritus and adjunct professor in the Department of French Studies, who published a translation and critical edition earlier this year titled "Verse Saints' Lives. Written in the French of England."
